Soooo good! This is a continuation of the Dark Secrets series. If you haven't read the others don't read this one yet. Go back and read them, they are worth it.I'm going to make this spoiler free for people that like to read reviews by don't want to know what's in the book.
I love this series. I recommend it to everyone and if you love it too, great, if not, that's ok too. Not everyone likes the same thing. But you can always download the sample for free then decide. That's what I always do.
The main characters keep you emotionally inside their world. I almost forget that it's not real as I'm reading it. I think that says something about the authors writing skills. I love how much dialog is in it. I'm not a person that loves books with tons of descriptions and not enough dialog so this one is right up my ally. The more dialog the better. Some of the twists and turns will have you sad, mad, happy and just plain crazy. It is an emotional roller coaster and I love it! Both Ara and David will make you want to scream at some point. Just try not to throw whatever device your reading on (replacements are expensive). I really can say I've never been as emotionally invested in any series I have ever read (and there is a lot) as I am with this one. I will continue to read and be sad when the final book comes out next year.

I read many many books. I read many genres but I have to say I love the most paranormal romance. When I first started reading this series I thought, OH no another teen sparkly vampire series...but no no...this book is completely on the adult level and very detailed and graphic. I have to say, I have never ever had a book acutally bring me to heartwretching sobs as this book did. I completely cried my eyes out during some of the scenes and wanted to jump into the book and help or yell STOP STOP! Or Go Go! lol I promise you once you have started reading you will not be able to stop. I just purchased Lies in Blood to be delivered to my kindle and I can not wait until I start reading. David and Jason are characters that you Love to Hate, and Hate to LOve.....but oh boy do you want to love them! Its a keep me on the edge of the chair kind of book. If I could I would give it 10 stars instead of 5~ Kudos to this series!
Some spoilers Dang I know when a book is really good when I finish it in less than 2 days. Wish i could write them like I read them but try as I may I'm not a writer. The books was great as always. So many lies finally came to light as they tend to do secrets usually don't stay hidden just depends on how long it takes for the truth to be revealed.
Spoilers begin
I knew I was gonna hate the ending since it ended with an argument between David and Ara. I hate how he was treating her when he found out she betrayed him with Jason but damn he did not have to be so cruel or say he disown his child. Drake was and is a piece of work to mastermind the whole contract.
It also cruel that Ara loves both guys and they both have her as a soulmate that just crazy and weird it doesn't compute in my mind. I've never believed or understood how someone could be in love with more than one person at a time like Mormons having more than one wife and stuff. Just weird and a bit creepy to see group marriage type stuff. I knew David had slept with Emily just thought it been after she had turned when they spend so much time alone together did not think he did it before meeting Ara.
Still confused about the whole golden apple thing and how Mother Nature said Jason was the answer and she was destined to be with him and it would help save David. That whole conversation just confused me. One gross thing is that Ara's child is drake niece yet her soul is his wife that died and Ara's soul belongs to Lilith crazy confusing. I totally feel lose in the loop and now have to wait painfully long until the final book comes out but I totally glad this one ended up not being the end.

I did not think this story could get any better. I had pieced together somethings and others just blew me sideways.
U cursed at this book and my language was most un lady like(Ara and I would both be in the sin bin) but the profanities I let flow at times would have my hubs head swinging around thinking I was up him for no reason.
I was very passionate about this installment in the book and literally this author had me on the edge of my seat anxious and hanging on every word written.
Hold on to your corsets ladies because Amara/Ara has fully transformed from a teenage girl to a beautiful woman with a new story to tell.
This series is a must read it's incredibly brilliant,intelligent and is quite the paranormal love story of the decade in my eyes ~

Although I really loved all the drama in this book, especially with Ara and David, it was annoying how she kept Jason hanging. Cheating with him was stupid and I totally sympathized with David's furious reaction. This author does well with complex characters, but not so well with pseudo-spiritual stuff. I happily started book 6, but am already sick of all the pagan Earth mother crap,and how she mixes it with real world religions. (ie. The "earth goddess" Lillith---supposedly the first woman---complains about how blind God was for not seeing Adam as too controlling and domineering. ?? Yeah. That's how we're supposed to picture God a biased, flawed Divinity who makes mistakes.) Also, Ara's told she can't really be "Catholic" because she's speaking to pagan goddesses all the time, and will someday be a goddess herself! Hey, Keep it fiction if it's a fictional, paranormal book!
I also didn't like in the next book (6) where they introduce a bisexual character. "okay, here's your politically correct lesson of the day, you malleable YA minds out there." I took off a stars for the ultra liberal bent and the new age blather.
Hopefully, I won't have to read about the kingdom's troubles with global warming or that Ara getting the hots for Emily. We'll see.
